The hybrid Event “From Vision to Action: Robotic Innovations in Agri-Food sector” is taking place between 6 and 8 April 2022, in Wageningen & online. Firstly, this AgTech event aims to boost knowledge flows across the value chain (DIHs, CC, SMEs, startups and investors). Secondly, it aspires to create new networking and matchmaking possibilities. Thirdly, it offers practical insights on how the uptake of robotic technologies in agriculture can help European farmers and rural communities meet current and future challenges.
Key Objectives
Given the population growth and resource degradation, the need to increase the use of robotic sensing and automation in the agri-food industry is now more imperative than ever. Therefore, since funding initiatives alone are not enough to bridge the gap between supply and demand, the key objective of agROBOfood is to orchestrate and support the creation of an inclusive, dynamic and open ecosystem. This will, in turn, acknowledge and involve the multiple systemic dimensions (technical, human, financial) and bring together the world of Robotics and Agriculture, through a common vision of sustainability and food security.
Above all, agROBOfood, aims at maximising the return of EU investment in robotic agri-food technologies. How? Through diversified innovation, locally-applicable knowledge and collaboration initiatives.
In essence, agROBOfood’s contribution in fortifying Europe’s competitiveness and ability to provide sustainable, safe and adequate food is deployed through three different milestones:
1. Raising awareness,
2. Facilitating involvement in Innovation Experiments (IE) and
3. Enabling the actual adoption of solutions by end-users.
Event Programme
With 12 parallel hybrid sessions and a unique pitching online session (Pitch Your Robot, Find your Investor), this 360o event provides an opportunity for multiple stakeholders across the AgTech value chain to share experiences, exchange best practices and discuss the future developments. Among them will be Digital Innovation Hubs, Research and Technology Centres, Academia, Big Industry Leaders, SMEs and Startups. Between panel discussions, workshops and keynote speeches, the event will offer the participant not only a vision of what is possible, but a glimpse of its actual implementation.
